| A l’origine, l’idée du livre était simplement de réécrire La condition postmoderne de J.-F. Lyotard presque 40 ans après. De fait, beaucoup des thèmes de Lyotard reviennent, mais dans une organisation différente. Le monde n’est pas décrit comme en proie à l’efficience, mais plutôt comme monde de l’immédiateté d’une sorte de joie dynamique et transformationnelle (figure du "monstre"). On demande alors, dans un tel monde, de s’inquiéter pour le destin du théorique plutôt que pour celui de l’amour, la poésie ou la religion. Mais on commence par essayer de faire partager l’amour pour la splendeur du théorique au cours du siècle récent : pour les mille fleurs qu’il a semé dans le champ du savoir. On suggère finalement que le théorique n’est pas garanti dans le monde du capitalisme et de la technique : il a besoin de nous, de notre fidélité et de notre rigueur. Cette dernière partie du livre fait usage des concepts centraux de l’ethanalyse, et de quelques uns de ses résultats. L’ouvrage peut néanmoins sans problème être lu par quelqu’un qui arrive au texte sans de telles références. | The original idea behind the book was simply to rewrite Lyotard’s famous Postmodern Condition, nearly 40 years later. As a matter of fact, many themes of Lyotard’s work reappear in the present book, although they are differently organized. The world is not described as dominated by efficiency, but rather as the reign of immediacy, letting a sort of dynamic and transformative figure of enjoyment prevail. In such a world, it is then asked for worrying not about destiny of love, poetry or religion, but rather about the destiny of ‘the theoretical’. In the first place, the book attempts to share love and admiration for the splendor of the theoretical in the last century, for the thousand flowers it has sown in the field of knowledge. Ultimately, it is suggested that the theoretical cannot be guaranteed in the world of capitalism and technique. In the last part of the book central notions of etho-analysis, and some of its results are employed. A reader not familiar with such contents may, nevertheless, read the book without any problem. |
